Vera de Cicco
is walking the Camino de Paz labyrinth in downtown New York City
near the Hudson River in contemplation of water and labyrinths.

On her indoor
personal labyrinth at home there are two vases of water, still
and silent, as they sit vigil over the labyrinth. Vera is aware
of peace in her heart while walking.

Four times,
I approach the heart-space,
blue water of the West,
white flame of the North,
yellow flame of the East,
and red flame of the South,
I set my prayers free,
May there be healing for all...

"We
decided to make our labyrinth on a circle on the beach that was
surrounded by water, next to a small stream, ending in the sea,
that symbolized the Mississippi River for us. We first made a
large labyrinth.
|
|
In
the middle we put some symbols and a golden glass bowl, that I brought
last year from Venice. In it I emptied a small bottle of water from
the Chartres well, that I had already for more than two years, plus
the petals of the last rose on my roof garden. We sent a lot of
prayers, light and love over the ocean… |
|
After
that we made a smaller labyrinth nearer the sea, to which we brought
the bowl. After a short while the sea came in and emptied the bowl.
Within no time the sea also over took the large labyrinth. |

When we wanted to leave we discovered an exhibit of sand sculptures
that showed Nehalenia, the old regional sea goddess!! |

She
is an old Celtic goddess who made a beacon of healing light at this
place in the delta in order to guide the fisherman safe back home,
as the story goes." |
